Started a career in corporate strategy with a North American company, and later primarily worked on private investment in the tech & RE space as both a general partner & limited partner.

After a couple of years of investing, I realized the insanities embedded in traditional private equity business, where funds with a limited duration and high return expectations are being put into long-duration security/securities (mostly junior securities). Later by stumbling into Mr. Munger’s analogy of the vet’s recommendations to the horse raiser, it furthered my conclusion.

On the public market side, I have been able to generate equally satisfactory returns by selecting a limited number of wealth-creating compounders, buying them at the right price (benefiting from both macro shocks & micro distractions), and sitting on them patiently. Riding with great businesses is the surest way to protect one’s wealth.

Here, I will share the following:

  1. High-conviction security opportunities (across capital structure) – not recommendations, for intellectual exchange purposes only
  2. Macro views (astrology-like topic, not very helpful but hopefully it provides some measurement on market temperature)
  3. Book reviews for busy folks & random thoughts sharing

At some point, item 1 will be productized; For now, they come at no cost.
